The Quick Search tool is used to search for and quickly navigate to various items in the system. These items include policies, clients, invoices and claims.
Quick Search appears toward the right side of the Main Menu, to the left of the user name. It consists of two controls. From left to right they are the Quick Search Category drop down and the Quick Search combo box.
1. In the Quick Search Category drop down, select the category of item to search for.

Tip: Selecting a specific category will have the system display the top fifty results for that category. Selecting All will have the system display the top ten results for each category. |
2. Click inside the Quick Search combo box. The system will automatically display up to twenty of the most recently selected search results, filtered by the selected category in the Quick Search Category drop down.
3. Enter the text for the search. Once three or more characters are entered, the system will automatically execute the search. Depending on the category, the system attempts to match the search-text against various fields that belong to the category item, as detailed below:
• To search for a Policy, the system checks for a match on Policy Number, Client or Distributor. If no Policy Number exists, the Term Id is used.
• To search for a Client, the system checks for a match on the client’s Code, City, State/Province, or Country.
o If searching for an individual client, the system will also check for a match on First Name and Last Name.
o If searching for a client company, the system will also check for a match on Company Name.
• To search for an Invoice, the system checks for a match on the Invoice Number, Bill To Party Name or Policy Number.
• To search for a Claim, the system checks for a match on the Claim Number, client name or Date of Loss.
|
Note: The system may suggest that there is a typo in the search-text. The suggestion will appear at the top of the results, and can be selected to execute the search using the suggested text. |
4. All matching results available to the user appear below the search-text, and are divided by category. Within each category, each result occupies one row and consists of a group of label-value pairs, which are described below.
The labels in each category are shown on the left and their details are explained on the right.
